A quick thank you to the donors of the Vestment Fund for Priests. We received a generous donation from Leonard L. and The Brandt Family this week! The Brandts, a beautiful family from my FSSP Apostolate, left a vintage roll of drafting vellum by my front door. I will put it to good use in making vestment templates. To find out more about Peter and Veronica Brandt why don’t you visit:

Front Panel Stencil Progress
I was able to complete most of the front-panel stencil for a French baroque style chasuble. I’ll finish up the Marian medallion and cross, today.
So far for this month, we clocked in 40 hours on Father K’s Low Mass Set.
Chasuble Back Panel Redesign
I met up with Father K to plan the cross design on the back panel. We’ll create a design for him that incorporates a Baroque IHS perhaps inside a barbed quatrefoil. I will post pics when the drawings are done.
Meet One of My Feathered Overlords
I don’t have a name for this Australian King Parrot that likes to micromanage me from 18 inches away. The flock sends him to nudge me into going outside to put more birdseed out. He will stay there until I get up, and then he flies to the kitchen door while signaling the rest of the flock. I’ll have to give him a name if this keeps up!
What’s next . . .
Thanks to recent donations, I will order Grade A silk fabric samples, today. The material needs to be free of stretch to hold up the extensive raised goldwork embroidery. When the samples come in, I will present them to Father K, so that he can choose the perfect shade. Now, we’re leaning towards an antique cream or off white silk with gold silk lining.
Another thing I need to sort out is the oversized frame. We have funds for that now thanks to Len also from our local FSSP apostolate.
I’m in the process of figuring out the best design for the PVC frame. It needs to be adjustable, so I only use up the quantity of expensive fabric that is required and no more. There is a local company that sells the components to make all kinds of cool structures with PVC pipes and connectors, Klever Cages, and they will help me cut the pipes to size.
Preparing for the next phase . . .
We need funds to proceed with the real gold goldwork threads and wires. I found a manufacturer in England that makes the authentic materials. He will have to make up a custom run for me since very few designers require actual gold content. In your kindness, would you please contribute to our GoFundMe project:
If you cannot contribute (and even if you did), please share this project far and wide!
Until next time . . .5
